In Loving Memory of Bro. John T. Coy 1939-2019

Brother John T. Coy was born October 5, 1939, in Princeton, New Jersey. He graduated from Trenton High School and joined the Trenton Police Department. He worked as an Undercover Vice Investigator and Internal Affairs. Bro. Coy served in several leadership roles in the Patrols Section, Metro County Narcotic Task Force, Burglary Unit, and the Criminal Investigation Bureau.

Upon retiring from his illustrious Police Department career, Bro. Coy opened an office in Hamilton and started a licensed private detective agency. This business expanded into a successful uniformed security services that included 40 security officers servicing New Jersey and Delaware.

Brother John T. Coy joined the illustrious band of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.  in the Fall of 2008. He was an active member of Lambda Lambda Sigma chapter where he dedicated much of his time to promoting Bigger Better Business activities and Sigma Beta Club functions. Bro. Coy was one of the chapter’s original Sigma Beta Club advisors and created the opportunity for our Sigma Beta Club to meet in his store initially before holding regular meetings at the Carver Center.

Bro. Coy was an active and dedicated person to his community and the youth. He served on numerous Board of Directors for many years. He hosted a weekly talk show that focused on minority issues and law enforcement.

Bro. Coy unselfishly gave of his time and services. He will be missed.
